About me:

I was raised in Maine and after completing college in New England, decided to try West Coast living. I have been here for about 10 years and still love it. After some relationship trials and tribulations, I am single once again. I believe in being present, aware and conscious and won't compromise in finding those characteristics in a partner. I don't allow the passage of time to put too much pressure on me, and yet I do understand the importance of it. I don't enjoy dating for the sake of dating and I feel strongly that a true connection is paramount. I don't need a man to MAKE me happy, I WANT a man to share my happiness with! Life can be challenging. What better way to remedy that than with a little laughter? I am told I have a great sense of humor-if I'm not laughing at your funnies, I will hopefully be making you laugh with some of my own. :-) Don't take yourself or others too seriously! I'm a social person. I love meeting new people and people watching. Of course, I do have my times when I'd prefer to keep it mellow and just stay in and have a quiet evening at home. I enjoy being outdoors, whether it be at the beach, sea kayaking, hiking, walking, skiing, exploring, boating, by the pool or enjoying drinks on a patio with an ocean view. Admittedly, I don't get enough of those things-and it's always better with someone special. I'm employed and own real estate and pretty independent but I am not a radical "women's libber." I think we as women have it pretty good in today's (western) world. There will always be inequities on either side of the gender fence, so I don't see any use in burning my bra to make a statement. However, I do appreciate the pioneers who did that for us way back when. :-)Hold a door open for me when you think of it, but don't feel pressured to do it every time. I'm a contradictory combination of the old fashioned girl who wants to make you dinner every night, and the modern woman who appreciates the gesture being returned. I have a good feel and keen sense for people. I will sense it right away if someone is not being genuine, real or honest. I know what I don't like as well as what I do. Though I do I prefer to focus on what I like. Intelligence is a must. Being well-read and worldly is also nice. I love intellectual stimulation and think it's an important way to connect! I like someone who is comfortable with himself, confident and self-assured. Someone who spends his energy making things better for himself and the world around him (globally AND locally), rather than complaining about what is not right. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD!! ~Ghandi I value a man who is confident, driven, warm, loves to laugh, and has a light heart. A sense of adventure is also a good thing. I appreciate having someone with whom I can travel. I don't need a particularly wealthy man, but cheap men and the fiscally irresponsible need not apply. It's also important that you're good to your mother. How you treat her will reflect in how you will treat any woman, myself notwithstanding. If you're lucky enough to still have her call her today and tell her you love her (and don't forget to ask for Dad, too!) I've found that the guys who spend more time on athletics have a healthy mind not to mention the obvious benefit of physical appeal. I tend not to go for the guys who use a lot of hair gel and cologne and spend too much of their time getting ready. Less is more! Oh...and since I've so shamelessly smattered this page with pictures of myself, it's only fair that you have pics, too. I'm more likely going to respond to your email if I have a better idea of who I am responding to. Also, prove to me that you've actually read this (or at least scanned it, cause I know, it's a NOVEL!) before sending me an email! One final thing.
