OV Marketing is the data controller for the personal data processed through the websites and services within the OV Marketing network, unless a specific situation states otherwise.

This may include age, gender, interests, preferences, location and profile information. This processing is necessary to offer dating and community features in a usable way.

Where we sort, filter or recommend profiles, this is done based on the information users provide themselves and the settings available within the service. This does not mean that OV Marketing makes significant legal or comparable decisions about users based solely on automated decision-making.

3.3 Security, moderation and fraud prevention

We process personal data to protect our websites, users and systems against misuse. Dating and community websites may be sensitive to spam, fake accounts, unwanted messages, deception and fraudulent behavior. We record information about consents given so that we can demonstrate that consent was validly obtained. This may include the date, time, IP address, website, form and the consent statement applicable at that time.

You can withdraw your consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in each marketing email. Withdrawal of consent does not affect your account or use of our services. Service messages that are necessary for use of the service may still be sent after unsubscribing from marketing.

6. Service messages and notifications

In addition to marketing messages, we may send service messages and notifications that are necessary or useful for the use of our services. These messages form part of the service and are not considered marketing communications.

7. Messages between users

To provide our services, we process communication between users. This includes private messages, responses, likes, matches and friend requests. This data is processed to provide communication features, show conversation history, support security, combat misuse and provide customer service.

When a user deletes their account, the profile is deleted and is no longer shown to other users. Previously sent messages may remain visible to recipients as part of their existing conversation history. This is necessary to preserve the recipient’s conversation history and to handle discussions, reports or disputes.

Users should be aware that information they voluntarily share with other users may be saved, copied or further shared by those users. OV Marketing does not have full control over what other users do with information you voluntarily provide to them.

8. Credits and payments

Within certain services, users may purchase credits or other paid features. Payments are processed by specialized payment processors, including Curo Payments. OV Marketing processes payment information only to the extent necessary for payment processing, administration, customer service, fraud prevention, refunds, legal obligations and dispute handling.

OV Marketing does not receive or store full payment card details. Payment card details or similar payment information are processed by the relevant payment provider under that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

9. Affiliate program

OV Marketing works with affiliate partners who may refer visitors to our websites. Affiliates may, for example, advertise Zhadoo.com or other websites within the OV Marketing network.

We use Post Affiliate Pro to register referrals, commissions, conversions, reports and fraud prevention. For these purposes, technical data and conversion data may be processed.

In addition, personal data may be shared when this is necessary to comply with legal obligations, court proceedings, requests from supervisory authorities or competent authorities, or to protect the rights, property or safety of OV Marketing, its users or third parties.

12. International transfers

Our websites are internationally accessible and may be used by visitors and users from, among other countries, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We also use international service providers for hosting, analytics, advertising, email delivery, payments, affiliate tracking and other technical services.

When personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are applied in accordance with the GDPR. These safeguards may include Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission, adequacy decisions or other legally permitted protective measures.

The level of protection for personal data outside the European Economic Area may differ from the level of protection within the EEA. We aim to work only with parties that take appropriate security measures and comply with applicable privacy laws.

13. Retention periods

We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless we are legally required to retain data for a longer period or when longer retention is necessary for disputes, fraud prevention, security or enforcement of our rights.

Account information is generally retained for as long as the account is active. This information is necessary for registration, login and account management.

Profile information is generally retained for as long as the account is active. When a user deletes the account, the profile is deleted, unless further retention is necessary due to legal obligations, security, abuse investigations, disputes or enforcement of rights.

Messages and communication between users are retained for as long as necessary for conversation history, operation of the service, customer service, safety, reports, complaint handling or disputes. When a user deletes their account, previously sent messages may remain visible to recipients as part of their existing conversation history.

Data relating to marketing consent is retained for as long as the consent is active and thereafter for as long as necessary to demonstrate that consent was lawfully given or withdrawn. This may include the date, time, IP address, website, form and consent statement used.

Payment data, invoice data and administrative data are retained for as long as necessary for payment processing, administration, customer service, refunds, fraud prevention and legal obligations. For tax and administrative data, a statutory retention period of seven years generally applies.

Helpdesk communication is retained for as long as necessary to handle questions, support requests, complaints, abuse reports, evidence or disputes. The exact retention period may depend on the nature of the contact.

Technical logs and security data are retained for as long as necessary for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, combating misuse, system monitoring and protecting users and services. The retention period may vary per system and per type of log file.

Cookie and tracking data is retained in accordance with the Cookie Policy, the selected cookie settings and the retention periods of the services used. Non-essential cookies and similar technologies are placed only where consent is required and has been given.

When data is no longer necessary, it is deleted or anonymized, unless retention remains necessary or legally required.

14. Deleting an account

Users can delete their account themselves through the account settings. If this is not possible, a request may be sent to helpdesk@ovmarketing.net.

After deletion, the profile is removed and is no longer visible to other users. Existing conversations may remain visible to other users with whom communication previously took place, to the extent necessary to preserve their conversation history.

Data that we are required to retain under legal obligations, such as certain payment or administrative data, may be retained for the legally required retention period. Data may also be retained temporarily when this is necessary for security, abuse investigations, dispute handling or compliance with legal obligations.

15. To which websites and services does this Privacy Policy apply?

This Privacy Policy applies to all websites, services, applications, platforms and related communication channels that are owned by, managed by or operated on behalf of OV Marketing. These currently include, among others, the following websites:

When this Privacy Policy refers to the “OV Marketing network,” this means the websites listed above and any future websites or brands of OV Marketing.

Certain parts are mainly relevant to specific services. For example, profile information, matches, likes and private messages are mainly relevant to dating and community websites such as Zhadoo.com. Payment information is relevant only when you purchase credits or paid features. Tracking and cookie data depends on the website and your cookie preferences.

16. Your rights

Under the GDPR and other applicable privacy laws, you have various rights regarding your personal data. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at privacy@ovmarketing.net.

Right of access: you may ask which personal data we process about you.
Right to rectification: you may have incorrect or incomplete data corrected.
Right to erasure: you may request that your personal data be deleted.

17. Minors

Our services are intended only for persons aged 18 years or older. Minors may not create an account or use our services. We do not knowingly collect personal data from persons under the age of 18.

Because Zhadoo.com is an international website, where applicable we take into account laws relating to the protection of minors, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), to the extent applicable. If it becomes apparent that we have received personal data from a minor, we will delete that data as soon as possible.
